Since 1939, the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Western Massachusetts has been at the heart of the residential construction industry in our region. Our mission is to promote professionalism, quality, and excellence in home building and remodeling.

Meet Our Board:

Zachary Kushner

President

Zach Kushner is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he earned a degree in Building and Construction Technology. Following his academic achievements, Zach embarked on a successful career with Gilbane Building Company, one of the nation’s largest and most prestigious commercial construction firms. During his tenure at Gilbane, Zach was integral to the construction management teams responsible for delivering numerous high-profile projects. These projects spanned various sectors, including healthcare, K-12 education, higher education, and underground infrastructure.

In his professional journey, Zach has excelled in multiple roles, from Project Engineer to Project Manager to now running a successful Commercial General Contracting Firm. This diverse experience has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of both project management and field operations, making him an invaluable asset to the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Western MA

Timothy Wells

First Vice President

Timothy Wells, First Vice President of HBRAWM, is the owner of TR Wells Custom Framers, a wood framing subcontractor founded in 2005. Specializing in residential and commercial projects, including window installations, Timothy’s company is known for its quality craftsmanship. A dedicated member of HBRAWM for 17 years, he has actively contributed through various committees, including the Scholarship and Relocation Committees, and has served as a Home Show Ambassador and on the Board of Directors.

Timothy values the association’s advocacy on behalf of the industry and appreciates the networking opportunities it provides. He is also a corporator of Adams Community Bank and enjoys spending time with his family—his spouse, Kim, and their three children, Ethan, Kathryn, and Abigail.

 

Joseph Yiznitsky

Second Vice President

Founded in 1986, by James & Darlene Yiznitsky, Interstate Custom Kitchen & Bath Inc has a proven history of providing Clients with top-quality design and renovation services. Interstate has been a member of the HBRAWM since the mid 90s. Joe began working at Interstate in 2003, learning the trade hands on while attending STCC, and subsequently obtaining a BBA from the Isenberg School of Management at UMASS. In 2008 Joe alongside his wife Sheena, began working directly with Clients, guiding them through the design and development phase of their projects; He then went on to become lead designer and project coordinator. Joe obtained his CSL in 2015, and became vice president of Interstate in 2023.

Joe has over the last few years committed to his involvement in the HBRAWM, and has become a member of the BOD, and also serves on the Home Show Committee. He values the association for the comradery and networking, as well as the education opportunities. Joe also recognizes HBRAWM as a powerful voice for the industry as a whole.

When not at the office or meeting with Clients, Joe enjoys the quiet country life in Holland Ma, with his wife Sheena, and 3 children Isabella, Alexandria, and Joey. 

Henry Avery

Third Vice President

Henry Avery is the owner of Avery Home Improvement And Repair, a company he established in 2008 that specializes in home improvement projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, and on-site fabrication. A dedicated member of HBRAWM for 10 years, Henry has contributed through his involvement in the Home Show Committee. He values the association for its networking opportunities and the chance to meet new people. Additionally, Henry serves as a corporator of Adams Community Bank and enjoys spending time with his spouse, Judith, and their son, James.

 

Lori Loughlin

Secretary

Lori Loughlin works for Frank Webb Home/ FW Webb, a family-owned business established in 1866 with over 100 locations across 9 states and 50 showrooms. The company excels in 15 areas, including plumbing, heating, HVAC, and fire protection. Lori has been an active member of HBRAWM for over 10 years, contributing to the Home Show, Golf, and Scholarship Committees. She values the association for its helpful members, excellent networking opportunities, and the friendly, supportive environment. Lori also serves on the West Brookfield Finance Committee and the Quaboag Regional School Committee and is a CAP Certified Age in Place Specialist. She enjoys spending time with her spouse, John, their children JD, Josh, Jordan, and granddaughters Reagan and Finley.

 

Robert Chateauneuf

Treasurer

Rob Chateauneuf is the Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending at Monson Savings Bank.  Rob’s 25 years of banking experience have included leadership roles in commercial lending, residential lending, and retail banking.  This combination has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of the needs and challenges of commercial businesses. Rob is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.  Rob has also graduated from the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking at UPENN (The Wharton School). Actively involved in the community, Rob has served on numerous non-profit Boards including The Center for Human Development, Hawthorne Services, Inc., and the South Hadley Chamber of Commerce. Rob has also been involved in a myriad of other charitable organizations and volunteer events including those benefiting Habitat for Humanity, the Westfield Boys & Girls Club, the United Way, the YMCA of Greater Springfield and the Towns of Agawam and South Hadley.   In 2014, Rob was recognized as one of Business West’s “Forty under 40.” Rob currently resides in Agawam with his wife Shauna and his two sons, Evan and Bryce.

 

Tom Kennedy

Associate Board Member

Thomas Kennedy Jr. is a Manager at United Rentals, a leading national company specializing in the rental of construction equipment. Before joining United Rentals, Tom was the owner of CT Valley Equipment Co., a business he founded in 1990 and later sold to United Rentals in 1999. Tom has been an active member of the Home Builders Association for 24 years, where he has contributed significantly through his involvement in projects like Extreme Home Makeover, serving as a volunteer ambassador for the Home Show, and providing OSHA training on equipment for members. In addition to his professional and volunteer work, Tom is deeply involved in his community. He is affiliated with the Forest Park Zoo and Education Center and the Galaxy Community Council-Westover, and he serves on the Steering Committee for the Western MA OSHA Alliance. Tom is married to Kathie Kennedy, and they have a daughter, Kerri.
