On May 14th, the Board of Building Regulations and Standards ratified the 10th Edition MA Building Code.
The CONCURRENCY PERIOD for the 9th to the 10th Edition of the IRC/ IBC has been EXTENDED from January 1, 2025, to June 30, 2025.
During the concurrency period, when a permit is pulled builders/ remodelers must choose between the 9th or 10th Edition. Builders/Remodelers cannot mix versions of the codes. As of July 1, 2025, all permits must be taken based on the 10th Edition.
The Home Builders Association was the first to receive the 10th Edition IRC/IBC
Amendments Booklets, providing a valuable reference for our builders and remodelers as they navigate the new codes.
